FIFA, football’s overseeing body, has suspended the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) because of outsider impedance.

A gathering of football authorities, driven by Ashfaq Hussain Shah, who was chosen as PFF president in the 2018 decisions endorsed by the Supreme Court however not perceived by FIFA, assumed control over the base camp a month ago and held onto control from the PFF Normalization Committee (NC) delegated by FIFA and headed by Haroon Malik.

FIFA said its choice to suspend the PFF was provoked by the “threatening takeover” which comprised a genuine infringement of its resolutions.

“FIFA issued a letter warning that should the illegitimate occupation of the PFF headquarters not be lifted and the office bearers recognised by FIFA not be permitted free access to the building to carry out their mandate, the matter would be immediately submitted to the Bureau of the Council for decision,” FIFA said.

“As the circumstance stays unaltered, the Bureau of the Council has chosen to suspend the PFF.”

FIFA said the furthest down the line suspension will be lifted just whenever it has gotten affirmation from the NC that the PFF premises, records, organization and correspondence channels are again under its full control.

“Following up on the suspension, the Normalisation Committee can confirm that FIFA will take further action against the individuals involved in the hostile takeover,” the PFF NC said in a statement.

A country like Pakistan where already sports is not given much importance especially girls football, and where little initiatives like NCFC are jeopardized by their own member’s fault.

We just hope government tries to look into this matter and comes up with a reasonable solution.
