Neeli Zinda hai – Sonia Mishal Clearly doesn’t know how to act
“Neeli Zinda hai” is a latest Pakistani horror drama starring Sonia Mishal, Mohib Mirza, and child actress Tehreem. People got really excited after watching the trailer because it was somewhat different from all the dramas that are coming out nowadays. The cast was okayish but the story seemed good and the trailers were really interesting which kept the audience intrigued. The last good horror drama we saw was Sayaa and nothing good came after that. So in this drama, The story starts with a family where there is a husband, wife, and their young daughter named Minaal. They are moving to a new house which is huge and definitely has some major electricity issues. It’s always dark there and the wife (Sonia Mishal) keeps on making strange faces which is quite awkward to watch. There’s a female ghost in that house (Neeli) and only Minaal can see and feel the ghost. We have no idea about who Neeli is and what is her purpose. We surely have not seen a ghost before with blue lenses, lots of makeup, fresh manicure, and perfect hair. I mean how we are supposed to be scared of it? Well, that’s not the only reason we are not liking this drama as Sonia Mishal’s pathetic acting has ruined the drama as well. Someone please tell her that you only give weird expressions when you see a ghost as her acting is making us feel that yes it’s a horror show the girl is scared but it’s far from reality. The little girl is scared after seeing the ghost and we gotta appreciate little Tehreem as her acting is brilliant. Well, we have realized that Pakistanis still need to learn how to make a good horror drama and a drama doesn’t turn into a horror show only if the light is gone all the time. more things are needed including good actors. Sonia clearly doesn’t know how to give proper expressions and we wonder what makers thought while casting her as the main character. She is back to TV after a really long break and now we know why! She should have gone for a lighter role which she could perform easily.
These types of roles require natural acting and In the Pakistan industry, we have a lot of other talented actresses they could have gone for while looking for the main character. There were a lot of expectation but we got nothing in return but let’s see how the story unfolds and if this drama gets better with time but to be very honest, Sonia Mishal’s cringe-worthy performance is not letting us watch this drama and we really hope it gets better with passing episodes.
