Kriti Sanon Delivers Best Performance Of Her Career In Mimi
Mimi, starring Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi, is directed by Luxman Utekal, well-known because of the movie, “Luka Chuppi”
This movie revolves around Mimi (played by Kriti Sanon) who, after being persuaded by Bhanu (played by Pankaj Tripathi) decides to become a surrogate mother of an American couple John and Summer. Mimi is a well-known dancer and wants to become an actress but she also needs some funds to enter Bollywood. Since Mimi is really beautiful and fit so the American couple decides to give her 20 lakhs to carry their baby in her womb. Mimi, who is desperate for money agrees but it seemed like a perfect plan until the foreigners change their minds and ask Mimi to abort the baby. It’s also when this movie goes beyond mundane humor. I won’t go into solemn details, but Laxman Utekar’s advice works well thanks to a fascinating story. And the solid performance of the entire cast, including the ever-reliable Pankaj Tripathi, Kriti Sanon, Sai Tamhanker, Manoj Pahwa, and Supriya Pathak, who probably had the best performance of their careers to date. They guarantee fun times and take you on an emotional journey. In fact, the creators create mirages in the first half, weaving emotional scenes with sporadic light moments. This leads to the misconception that this must be addressed throughout the script. However, in the second part, the director is smart and controls the flow without becoming too dramatic, which surprises the audience.
Kriti Sanon, without any doubt, has delivered the best performance of her career in this movie. She lived the character of Mim and provided such a wholesome experience to the audience. She also gained 15 kgs for this movie because they had to show “Chubby Mimi’ when she was pregnant and oh boy! she really looked pregnant and her pregnancy was probably the most realistic pregnancy Bollywood has ever created. The movie doesn’t have redundant songs, vulgar scenes, or unnecessary glam. The movie is simple, sweet, and wholesome. Kriti takes you to the journey of Mimi and you will start feeling connected to all the characters in no time. Finally, Bollywood has produced a wholesome movie after a very long time. The last time we remember it was Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Mimi is now streaming on Netflix and Jio Cinemas. Do watch it and don’t forget to keep lots of tissues with you.
