Atif Aslam or Farhan Saeed – Whose Single Disappointed us the most

Atif Aslam doesn’t need any introduction and he has the proficiency to make every song a hit. Be it a party song, romantic song, sad song, or even a sufi kalam. He has this mastery of music which is truly commendable. He recently released his song “Rafta Rafta” starring Sajal Ali.

Farhan Saeed, who is also an incredible actor and singer of Pakistan released his song “Na Cherr Malanga Nu ” along with Aima Baig after couple of days.

Well, to be very honest, the public had extraordinary expectations from both of them but none of them lived up to expectations. If we talk about Atif Aslam’s song Rafta Rafta, it’s a light romantic song where both Atif and Sajal look exceptionally graceful. But It was nothing unusual for the public. The similar conventional music, similar typical video, and nothing could recoup the song. Sajal Aly looked like a dream in the video and that is the only favorable point of this song. But she couldn’t do much for the video as she didn’t have many roles to execute. The chemistry between Sajal and Atif was elegant but again this is not that kind of a song people will think back to in the long run. In the coming 2,3 months, this song’s existence will be disregarded by the public which is dispiriting for Atif Aslam’s fans.

Now if we talk about Farhan Saeed’s song, we won’t get into the debate whether they copied Taylor Swift’s video or not because makers have already acknowledged on Instagram that they’re enlightened by Taylor Swift’s videos. Adnan Qazi posted on his Instagram that they’re paying tribute to Taylor Swift and they tried to make a video close to wildest dreams and we believe it isn’t plagiarism because they’re paying tribute right? But the music is impressive along with the soulful voices of Farhan Saeed and Aima Baig. The overall package of the song includes lyrics, composition, cinematography, and decent direction.

But we still believe that makers could’ve come up with something distinctive as Pakistan is notable for making original content. You don’t have to care about the video extensively when you have Farhan Saeed and Aima Baig lined up as they both already have the strength to make a song influential. Interestingly, a few years ago, Farhan Saeed criticized Salim-Sulaiman’s song “Hareya” and claimed they have stolen his work and made a “copy” of the 2014 track “Roiyan”. However, the Indian composer duo denied the claim and called the resemblance merely “accidental”.
Fast forward to 2021, Farhan’s song was released, and shortly after it was released, people started calling it a copy of Taylor Swift’s song. The similarities between the hits of Taylor Swift and Na Cher Malanga Nu are insane, from video storyboards to cinematography to vocalist and extra outfits. There are few notable things that can be distinguished from Swift’s masterpieces. The point is that copying and getting inspiration are definitely not the same thing. A copy made by a singer who has asked for plagiarism in the past is an unpleasant observation.

The audience usually has enormous expectations from considerable artists like Atif and Farhan and they have to continuously make quality content to live up to the expectations. Both the songs were reasonably disappointing and are not something you’ll see people vibing with in the future. Though Rafta Rafta is an original in comparison to Farhan’s tribute, Atif’s song proves he is currently struggling with producing something pleasing to the ears

Now it’s your time to watch both songs and let us know which one disappointed you the least.
