Game Over – Movie Review

Taapsee Pannu plays Swapna, a home video game professional and when we first met her, something was overshadowing her, but I’m not sure what it was. She is currently having a panic attack, especially in the dark, apparently due to her memory of a physical attack. Her therapist assured her that it was an anniversary reaction, caused by realizing that she had been attacked at this time last year. She apparently suffers from PTSD and has flashbacks of her traumatizing past which are linked to New Year’s Celebrations. There is a serial killer out who kills girls sadistically and burns their bodies. Apparently, Swapna is his next target. The Movie only has two key characters that are Taapsee who plays the character of Swapna and Vinodhini who plays the character of Kallama who was the househelp of Tapsee. The movie does not have any extraneous songs or scenes and the whole running time of this movie is 1 hour 37 minutes. The movie takes the viewers on an electrifying ride and will keep them hooked till the very end. It’s a psychological thriller with the twist of spirituality in it and this is extremely different from what we usually watch in Indian Cinema but we got to appreciate Tapsee Pannu for always choosing diverse yet impactful scripts. The film is directed by Anurag Kashyap which definitely speaks for itself.
