Koi Jaane Na – Worth Watching or not?
Kabir Kapoor (Kunaal Kapoor) is a well-known writer, YouTuber by day, and world savior by night. He dresses to help those in need and prevent crime. But his own life is a mess. His ex-wife (Vidya Malvade), who cheated on him, wants to sue him. She now wants his old Jeep and spacious bungalow in Panchgani, which is also Kabir’s secret labyrinth of darkness. She hires an experienced detective reporter, Ricky Rosario (Kalim Hazy), to intimidate Kabir. Meanwhile, backpacker Suhana (Amyra Dastur) literally enters Kabir’s life on her way to Panchgani. As expected, this accidental encounter quickly turns into love, but when Kabir becomes the prime suspect, a sudden serial murder shakes his sleepy Hill Station and his life.
The above is as clear as can be explained as the film’s intertwined and distorted story, but beware, this is just the beginning. While writer and director Amin Hajee is free to twist his imagination and pen, we’re exposed to dodgy characters and twists, But Hajee starts well with a plot and of course an item number where the slender Ellie Avram seduces the super adorable Aamir Khan.
The execution remains very disappointing as the story seeks to justify its many characters and motives. For example, Kabir’s fascinating housekeeper, Bindiya (Neha Mahajan), simply sneaks up on her boss and does absolutely nothing. Some characters are so useless that their contribution to the movie is
nothing, like a series of twists, twists, twists, where nothing goes wrong. The number of characters has increased to a climax, and it’s a moving job, but due to the slow pace, the movie fails to deliver what the audience expected.
Kunaal Kapoor and Amyra Dastur play their roles well, and despite the obvious gaps in the script, there is some space. Ashwini Kalsekar is very effective as a tough cop and Atul Kulkarni is completely devastated. So if you’re planning to watch Koi Jaane Na just after watching Aamir Khan’s Har fun Maula, we would suggest you think again about your decision as there are many good thriller movies out there that aren’t 2.5 hours long with a dragged story. Amyra Dastur was good to watch but this movie couldn’t save her drowning career
